We hope that you are enjoying the daily meditations on this blog, and are taking time for prayerful reflection this Advent season.  We know that this is not the only Advent resource available, so each week we hope to share a few other suggestions for you to check out. If you have something you think should be included in our weekly “Advent Roundup” post, include as a comment or e-mail to Paris Ball (

The Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori, our presiding bishop, offers a greeting for the season, reminding us to “be still, and listen deep within.”

The brothers of the Society of St. John the Evangelist are embracing new means of sharing their meditations and thoughts by putting their 2013 Advent Calendar on Pinterest. Each day, a new window will become available, revealing a special word, image and reflection.  Each word and brief reflection is written by one of the brothers, and the daily image comes from their beautiful monastery.  You don’t need a Pinterest account to access their meditations, and you can also access their offerings via their website or by subscribing to get them sent to your email each day.

The Rev. Stephen Edmondson at St. Thomas’, McLean is posting Advent reflections of 140 characters of less on Twitter this season. To join this Advent journey, follow him @stthomasrector. You do not need a Twitter account to follow his daily postings, which are generally a biblical passage and one or more reflection questions for you to consider as you go through your day.

We hope these additional resources enhance the season for you, and encourage you to share your additional resources with us!
