In addition to the TENS 2014 Stewardship Conference, the Office of Stewardship and Congregational Development is offering workshops on annual and planned giving.

See below for more information:

  • The TENS 2014 Stewardship Conference is meeting under the theme “Walking the Way,” June 6-7 at Emory University, Atlanta. The Diocese of Virginia is a member of TENs which allows all of our churches an additional discount. Early Bird registration for the TENS Conference ends May 26. This year TENS has designed a track, especially for clergy and bishops, who want to engage and explore the various facets of shaping a culture of stewardship in their congregation and diocese. Register for the webcast.
  • Members of the Diocesan Committee on Stewardship will facilitate workshops on annual giving using The Episcopal Network for Stewardship’s 2014 materials, “Walking the Way”. These workshops are designed to complement your annual campaign through principles and practices that inspire faithful generosity. These workshops will explore year-round stewardship and discuss what you need for a successful annual campaign. Visit the diocesan events calendar for a full list of dates.
  • A Planned Giving workshop will be offered July 12 at Grace, Kilmarnock, with facilitator Karl Mattison, the Executive Director of The Presbyterian Endowment Education & Resource Network – the PEER Network. This workshop will discuss how planned gifts to the church help ensure a future that will help serve as a testament of your values for generations. It will provide an overview on Planned Giving in the Church, what you must have in place and proven tools that any Church can use. Learn more.

The registration for all workshops is $25/person or $50/parish. Scholarships are available.  Please contact Stephanie Gurnsey Higgins with questions or to register for these events.
