Meg Schwarz, assistant for the diocesan Christian Formation office, has announced plans to depart from her position after four years on the Bishop’s staff. Meg will take on a new role as a middle school Latin teacher (grades 6, 7 and 8) at Walker-Grant Middle School in Fredericksburg on Monday, August 22.
Meg was born and raised in Fredericksburg and attended Walker-Grant Middle School herself, though high school is where she fell in love with Latin. She has been working toward her certification as an educator the last two years. Meg says she is excited to return home to be closer to family and to embark on this new adventure knowing “that I have the love and support of my diocesan family every step of the way.”
“It has been a joy and a privilege to be able to work and minister alongside Meg Schwarz the past four years,” said Paris Ball, director of Christian Formation. “Her dedication and commitment to the parishes and families of our Diocese have helped our Christian Formation offerings blossom and have enhanced our Shrine Mont Camps program immensely.”
Meg’s last day in the diocesan offices will be August 3.
