Since its beginning in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a significant, worldwide movement to celebrate and support giving and philanthropy. Each year it has grown to keep the season’s focus on generosity and the work we can all do together to make a difference in the world rather than the consumer fueled frenzy kicked off on Black Friday.
A week from today – on November 29th – we’ll celebrate #GivingTuesday and the opportunity to reclaim the Thanksgiving experience we’ll have together on Thursday and also kick off this year’s charitable season.
Generosity is a paradox. The more we give, the more we receive and the happier we are. This is not just a nice metaphor. It’s a sociological fact.
So, before we get too far into this season of busy-ness and our plans that stretch us in seemingly endless directions, please take a moment to consider how you can make a difference on #GivingTuesday.
